About the event
✨ Art + Identity + Community = One Unforgettable Class! ✨
In this powerful mixed-media class, kids explore the question: What do I hold in my heart? Through storytelling, symbolism, and hands-on art, they’ll design a one-of-a-kind quilt square using real fabric, color, and texture to express something meaningful about themselves. (No sewing skills required quilts will be made via glue)
Inspired by the bold tradition of the Gee’s Bend quilters, this project blends creativity and connection. Students reflect on themes like love, courage, and care then come together to assemble their squares into a collaborative classroom quilt.
